DESCRIPTION: Ithaca Calendar Clock Co, NY, "REGULATOR No. 1", double dial perpetual wall calendar, 2-wt, 8-day. This clock hung in the Millbury Savings Bank (Established 1854 in Millbury, Mass). It was removed when the bank went electric around 1935, and taken home by the janitor, and stored under his bed for decades. Upon his death, his son sold the clock to the current consignor. Attest included.
CONDITION: this is a remarkable clock. The case is original and complete, & retains orig finish that has been cleaned thoroughly with Kotton Klenser and is rubbed through to the wood in a couple of spots. The dials, hands, weights and pendulum are original. According to pencil notes under the mask [see detail foto] this is serial number 2790, and was installed in 1881. There is additional history of cleaning and new "gut". In the past we have seen this model sell for over $28000 . Ht 72"
